This thermostat is used with all SM residential steam bath generators that utilize an automatic drain system.
The motorized, electronically operated model SM-900 drain valve will automatically drain the generator by gravity.
The thermostat is used to sense the temperature for safe draining as some local codes state water cannot drain above 130 degrees Fahrenheit. When the thermostat senses that the water has cooled down to 130 degrees, it will activate the automatic drain system.
