This 15 PSIG Safety Valve 1-1/4" outlet is required as a safety pressure control on Mr. Steam's Commercial CU4500 and C4500 steam bath generators.
If for some reason the generator builds up to 15 pounds of pressure (which is extremely rare), the valve will pop open and relieve the pressure.
This 15 PSIG Safety Valve 1-1/4" outlet (pressure relief valve PRV) is a safety pressure control. This valve would typically be piped to a floor drain in the generator installation area.
This valve should be inspected routinely along with all additional components during your routine maintenance schedule.
